What is Microphlebectomy?

This is a minimally invasive surgical technique used to treat varicose veins typically in the leg, and occasionally in the thigh. Tiny punctures or cuts (1-2mm) are made in the skin through which the underlying veins are pulled up and removed using special set of instruments.

The procedure is done under local anesthesia, and relatively quick. Compression stockings are prescribed for a few weeks after the procedure. Recovery is rapid and most patients can resume regular activity early.
