Surface laser treatment is a treatment option for small spider veins. Tiny spiders on the skin can be treatment in one or more sittings. Surface laser treatment is frequent combined with Sclerotherapy or other procedures. It is also used as a cosmetic procedure for spider veins of the face and other areas.

A narrow laser beam is used directly on the skin surface over the spiders to ablate the veins. The laser energy is absorbed by the blood in the vein, which causes the vein to close down, thereby removing the blue streaks under the skin. The spider veins fade away in a few weeks time.

Walking and routine daily activities can be resumed immediately. Strenuous physical activity is to be avoided for a few weeks. Depending on the amount of spider veins and their size, more than one treatment session may be necessary.
